How can I oppose a trademark application?

If you believe that a published trademark is identical or deceptively similar to your existing trademark or is otherwise not entitled to registration, you may file a Notice of Opposition before the Trade Marks Registry after the application is advertised in the Trade Marks Journal.

The opposition must generally be filed within four months from the date of publication. The proceedings are governed by the Trade Marks Act, 1999 and the Trade Marks Rules, 2017.
